Departments represent the organizational structure of your company. Every employee must be assigned to a department. Departments are managed through the Settings page as a simple list resource.


Managing Departments

Accessing Departments

Navigate to Settings > HRM Configuration > Departments.

Creating a Department

  1. Click the Create button.

  2. Enter the department Name (must be unique).

  3. Click Save.

Editing a Department

  1. Click on an existing department in the list.

  2. Modify the name.

  3. Click Save.

Deleting a Department

  1. Click the delete icon next to a department.

  2. Confirm the deletion.

Note: When a department is deleted, employees that belonged to it will have their department field set to null. It is recommended to reassign employees to another department before deleting.


How Departments Are Used

  • Employee Profiles: Each employee is assigned to a department via a dropdown field. The department name appears in the employee table and detail view.

  • Filtering: The employee table can be filtered by department to view staff in a specific team.

  • Reporting: Dashboard cards and exports can group data by department.

  • Product Management

Tip: Set up your departments before creating employees, as the department field is required when creating an employee record.
